....starting a rainy day with ......."what! is it raining again..!?"
....hate getting wet.......
.......never having proper rain gear......
......Irish men:......
.....they are charming......
....funny........
.......witty.......
....always looking at the bright side...."sure we will have a good summer this year"
....to give out (complain) over a cup of tea.....
....getting the Friday "messages" (shopping)...
....starting a conversation with a stranger by asking..."where do you come from?"...
.....boiling- food......(cabbage, turnip, bacon, potatoes....)
......the Irish mammy:........-
-she's the lynch pin of the family....
-...the relationship between her and her son(s)...
-she's the only one who will tell you ..."your arse looks big in those jeans"
-she can find anything in the house......even the receipt for the shoes you bought five years ago....
-she can give you a recipe for the best apple tart and soda bread of by heart....
.....she keeps "club milks" in her cupboard for emergencies.....
.....social drinking: tea, lemonade, Guinness....
....giving directions from one bar to another "turn left at the Dead Horse and you will pass the Black Bird then..."
....using the outside lane and no indicator in a round-a-bout......
....the full Irish breakfast - at any time of the day....
.....ending a sentence with.... "like" -"you know what I mean, like"
....wearing shapeless GAA jumpers.....
......being nosy.....
......music....
......poetry..........
......potatoes; chipped, mashed, boiled......
...good apple tart....
....scones with raisins.....
......a real tan......
.....you know some one, who knows someone, who knows you....(it's a small country)
.....everyone/thing is slagged......
......forests,fairies.......
...using words like "you wan" (for a female), "you man" (male) in conversation and everyone knows who you are revering to.....
